A New Raised Gardening Bed – myGroFarm invention story

I was determined to own a raised gardening bed after reading Mel Bartholomew’s ‘Square Foot Gardening’ book and setting off on my own organic growing “revolution” a few years ago. Close friends, family members and people sitting next to me on airplanes all quickly became aware of how exciting Mel’s method was. I remember telling [...]

The White Rabbit

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don’t do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she’s ten feet tall
And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you’re going to fall
Tell ‘em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small
When men on the chessboard
Get [...]

Lateralus

“Black then white are all I see in my infancy.
red and yellow then came to be, reaching out to me.
lets me see.
As below, so above and beyond, I imagine
drawn beyond the lines of reason.
Push the envelope. Watch it bend.
Over thinking, over analyzing separates the body from the mind.
Withering my intuition, missing opportunities and [...]

Ancient map of the middle east

Maybe it’s just, me but this map appears to plot the coast line of the modern day Arabian peninsula, India, the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf. This guy thinks it’s some sort of astrological chart (which it may very well be!) but when I first saw the image, I immediately thought it resembled modern [...]

Beautiful pictures of the cosmos taken from garden shed!

An amateur stargazer has stunned astronomers around the world with his photographs of the universe – taken from his garden shed.
Peter Shah, 38, cut a hole in the roof of his wooden shed and set up his modest eight-inch telescope inside. After months of patiently waiting for the right moment he emerged with a series [...]

David Saxby’s amazing reef aquarium

The song of life

There are no particles per se, only the effects of the interaction between fields, some of which are electromagnetic in nature. We observe these effects as matter which is perceived to be tangible, touchable and movable BUT it can never be created or destroyed, not because there is a finite amount of matter, but because [...]

What does “turn on, tune in, drop out” mean?

to turn on means to light one’s flame, to express ones self.
to tune in means to merge ones self with the stream of consciousness and mother nature
to drop out means to let go of superficial ties to dependent thinking and systems.
Timothy Leary did a better job of explaining what he meant (from wikipedia) :
“Turn on, [...]

did you know about Shiken Haramitsu Daikomyo?

“Shiken Haramitsu Daikomyo” is a sacred ‘nine-syllable’ Buddhist mantra.
It (conceptually) translates as :
“May the Light in our heart bring the awareness of harmony perceived by spiritual awakening, and bring sincerity, loyalty and faithfulness in what we are achieving.”
or, if you prefer:
“The Wisdom of the Four Hearts leads us to Enlightenment”
The ‘Four Hearts’ ( lit: Four [...]
